Why did we build Candere Creative Strategy?

“Candere” is a Latin verb meaning “to shine” or “to glow,” which reflects exactly what we do: We help healthcare brands shine.

The story behind Candere Creative Strategy spans more than a decade, which is why building this business has been so meaningful. We first met in 2014 at a San Francisco advertising agency, and over the years we partnered across some of the most recognized brands in aesthetics—BOTOX Cosmetic, JUVÉDERM, CoolSculpting, and SkinMedica. We often talked about creating something of our own, but the timing was never quite right as our careers grew and family took priority.

During that time, we were deeply embedded in high-pressure launches, training programs, and brand strategy work. Aimee helped build Allergan Medical Institute’s curricula team while Claire focused on strategy, messaging, and science-led storytelling.

Through our combined 30+ years of experience, we saw a consistent gap: companies didn’t need more layers or larger agencies; they need experienced, senior partners who can step in, understand the science, and help teams get clarity.

Then, what started as casual feedback on a rough business idea turned into a true partnership. We made the decision to build Candere with intention—defining our vision, values, and how we wanted to grow. Within months, we formed our LLC, signed our first clients, and built strong early momentum.

We started this business to create the kind of partner we wished we had when we were on the inside: experienced, honest, strategic, and genuine.

Candere reflects years of earned experience and a belief that women can create credible, high-impact businesses in complex, highly regulated industries.

The opportunity in front of us is real. Healthcare is evolving quickly, and companies need partners who understand both the science and the commercial side.
